After successfully completing their doctorate, many young researchers are faced with the decision of whether to take the next step in their academic career with a postdoc position or to continue their career outside the scientific community. In the lecture, the general framework conditions of the postdoc phase will be highlighted and the specific advice, support and funding opportunities (at KIT) will be presented. In addition, you will receive a short outlook on subsequent career paths in science (e.g. junior professorship, junior research group leader, professorship) and information on funding opportunities with regard to these career steps following the postdoc phase. The Young Investigator Network (YIN), the independent network of young junior research group leaders and junior professors at KIT, will also introduce itself during the lecture.

The event will be held in English.

Eligibility: This event is part of the KIT Doctoral Days. Doctoral researchers (who are members of KHYS) will therefore have priority for attending. Postdocs, however, can still register and will be offered a spot if not all places are taken.
