Good Reasons for a Doctorate at KIT
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is the Research University in the Helmholtz Association. It combines in a unique way the tradition of a renowned technical university with the work of a high-ranking largescale research institution and, thus, offers extraordinary potential to its early-stage researchers.
KIT’s early-stage researchers make essential contributions to research, teaching, and innovation. KIT understands the work of early-stage researchers to be gainful for the early-stage researchers themselves, for KIT, and for the scientific community. KIT devotes special attention to its early-stage researchers. It demands that early stage-researchers’ projects are completed by doctorates and supports about 3200 doctorates comprehensively, reliably, and with high priority.
Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) is the central institution for the promotion of early-stage researchers at KIT. We support our junior researchers in networking with the scientific community and in establishing national and international careers.
We offer services to enhance the compatibility of job and family, equal opportunities, and diversity in the doctoral phase.
KIT has adopted ▶ Guidelines for the Doctorate. These provide comprehensive information about the relevant standards and orientation for both doctoral researchers and supervisors.
KIT offers excellent conditions in the doctoral phase:
